Birdman, one of the most iconic hip-hop executives of all time, is demanding recognition for his contributions to the industry. In a recent post on Instagram, the rapper called out Billboard for publishing a list of the top 50 rappers of all time without acknowledging the contributions of CEOs.
Birdman is widely known for founding Cash Money Records, one of the most successful hip-hop labels in history. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in the careers of numerous rappers, including Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Drake. Despite his numerous accomplishments, Birdman feels that he and other CEOs have been largely overlooked in discussions about the history of hip-hop.

In his Instagram post, Birdman called on Billboard to show some “respek” and recognize the contributions of hip-hop executives. He argued that CEOs are the ones who paved the way for rappers to become superstars and that they fought battles behind closed doors to make it happen.
“I’m the best to ever do it as far as CEOs,” Birdman wrote. “Put some respek on my name and stop playin with me.”
