Barbara Walters, Legendary Broadcast Journalist, Passes Away at 93

On Friday night, the news broke that legendary journalist and broadcaster Barbara Walters had passed away at the age of 93. According to People magazine, she \”passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones.\”


Throughout her career, Walters worked at some of the biggest television networks in the industry, including CBS and ABC. She began her career on The Today Show in the early 1960s, where she served as a writer and segment producer for women\’s interest stories. She would go on to create and work on \”The View\” from 1997 to 2014, when she officially retired from broadcasting.

Walters received numerous accolades throughout her career, including induction into the Television Hall of Fame in 1989, a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2007, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in 2000. She was also a trailblazer for female journalists and all women.

\”She lived her life with no regrets,\” said rep Cindi Berger. \”She was a trailblazer not only for female journalists, but for all women.\”
